Wednesday 19th July – windsurf ***** The Dip – Felixstowe – sunny and hot:)

F2 Xantos 295 and F2 Ride 282 with Tushingham Lightning 6.5
27.44 kt max, 25.44 kt ave., 23.19 kt mile, 33.3 km., 15.58 kt Alpha

Was going to go down earlier today to make the most of low water but the forecast SE hadn't arrived and it was still E. It then turned and dropped completely for an hour! Then after a trip up town and a sandwich I went down The Dip at one taking Mag. Michael Galbraith was out early like yesterday well overpowered with 7.5! He changed down to 6m and I went for 6.5 on the 282 with Neil going for 6.2 which made it a little stronger than yesterday.
I made 26kts on the first run and in this direction, you could miss nearly all the lobster pots! Mag took her lunch and book but had a nice chat with Sally then Maureen, staying most of the afternoon:) The wind then eased so I went to see Mag and Roger Vickers made us all a cuppa, Neil then tried a bigger board so I swopped to the 133lt with the wind now slightly off making the water smoother and I was getting some good broad runs, still managing to get back up wind easily. I went for a few full-on mile runs which made you concentrate as it was bumpy further out but super smooth close in if you were lucky enough to get a gust, getting my fastest speed on the way in 27kts:) So a good day, great to see Swainy’s lads having fun, even if Nick should watch out for lobster pots and Ed is ready for a harness!
Peter Cutts came down, not sailing today but taking pics instead and selling some gear for a friend, Neil got a great bargain an 8m Tushingham which must be 15 years old and is like new!
As usual I was last away getting home at 6.30, might be some wind tomorrow but offshore but Friday is looking good:)
PS – it was very hot today and I made a mistake putting on a winter full arm rash vest under the shortie – much too hot!
